Winemaking Notes
Nestled between two mountain ranges, the Napa Valley offers diverse microclimates and soils that are uniquely suited to growing fine Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine includes grapes grown up-and-down the Valley. The hillside fruit brings bright acidity, rich tannins, as well as intense fruit, floral and herbaceous notes. The vineyards on the valley floor provide ripe, juicy fruit notes and fleshy tannins.

Silver Spur Lake County Sauvignon Blanc

Snazzy. Polished. Crisp.

Tasting Note
Aromatic with refreshing acidity, this Sauvignon Blanc features lively citrus, crisp apple, vibrant stone and tropical fruit notes. Balanced and smooth, the grassy character and dry minerality leads to a clean and refreshing finish.

Winemaking Notes
Made from the sustainably grown Sauvignon Musque Clone, which is known for its intensity and array of aromas and notes associated with expressive and fine Sauvignon Blanc. These grapes were gently harvested at night to ensure cooler temperatures as they moved to the winery. Gentle pressing was followed by a long, slow and cool fermentation to preserve the aromatic intensity and beloved flavors. Some light lees contact provided a layered, balanced and smooth wine.

Lake County’s rugged topography, high elevation, warm climate, and clean air make it a noteworthy growing region. This wine comes from a single vineyard in the Big Valley District nested-AVA. The cooling influence from the high elevation combines with the intense California sunshine to provide a significant diurnal temperature shift. This diurnal shift along with the well-drained gravel soils creates the perfect conditions for grapes to ripen slowly, preserving the acidity while the aromatics intensify. These Lake County Sauvignon Blanc grapes reach their fullest expression.
